dalminty Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 (edited) Hi All,I have a ford galaxy 2002/52reg 1.9 tdi auto, turning steering left to right has a sqeaking sound and vibration. If i turn the steering wheel slightly left to right the vibration sound goes.Ihave checked the alternator pulley by taking the tension off and it free wheels anti-clockwise.My alternator is a bosch 120amp. Am i checking the alternator pulley correctly?Could it be the power steering pump? Any suggestions Many Thanks in advance. Iam based in south east not scotland........... Iam based in south east not scotland...........Hi thereThe pulley on the alternator has a clutch inside it they can make a sound similar to the belt slipping more so when engine just been started they usually pack up around the 90000 mls, also the belt tensioner can give a vibrating rattle when engine ticking over Quote
